At a briefing held at the Astana City Communications Service, Deputy Director of the National Testing Center N.Didarbekov provided clarifications regarding the Unified National Testing, according to the news agency Expressnews.kz.

According to her, applicants may change their профиль subjects through their personal online account until the application deadline expires. However, this rule does not apply equally to all testing periods.

During the UNT sessions held in January, March, and August, applicants are allowed to change their combination of профиль subjects. In the main testing period from May to July, this option is not available. This means that once a subject combination is selected for the first attempt, it cannot be changed for the second attempt. For example, if a candidate initially chooses Mathematics and Informatics, they cannot switch to another combination later. However, a candidate who takes Chemistry–Biology in winter may choose Mathematics–Informatics in the spring session.

It was also clarified that a UNT certificate issued in 2026 will remain valid until December 31, 2026, meaning it is valid only until the end of the year in which the test was taken.

Additionally, failing to achieve the minimum passing score in January or March does not prevent applicants from participating in the main testing session. Registration is conducted separately for each stage, and the results of different sessions do not affect one another. A separate certificate is issued for each test attempt.
