Now you can rent and buy land online

 In Kazakhstan, it is now possible to apply for land plots online and extend lease terms, reports the Expressnews.kz news agency.

According to the State Corporation “Government for Citizens,” three public services in the field of land relations have been automated in Kazakhstan starting from January 2026.

One of the new digital services is changing the designated purpose of a land plot. For example, if a plot was previously registered for agricultural use and the owner plans to carry out construction, an application to change its designated purpose can now be submitted online.

In addition, the service for extending the lease term of a land plot has also been transferred to an online format. An application may be submitted 90 days before the lease expires.

The procedure for purchasing a land plot into private ownership has also been digitalized. Land can now be purchased online, either through a one-time payment or in installments, making it easier to obtain ownership rights.

According to the corporation, these services were implemented through the integration of the Unified State Real Estate Cadastre information system, the e-Government portal, and the systems of local executive authorities. This has made it possible to move key processes online and track the status of applications within the system.
